 After taking a look at the
new Smackdown 4 breathtaking Trailer i thought why not write up a review
of what my thoughts are on the game so here goes :-
In the trailer there are a
number of new features which can be notices straight away and the
graphics look awesome and very realistic, the muscle structure on the
superstars are very much like the Wrestlemania 18 game for the Nintendo
Game Cube and X-Box's RAW Brand, to be precise they stand out unlike the
predecessors in the Smackdown Series where the muscle was textures on!
The game play looks much
better and realistic also note a few new moves have been added like for
example moves from above on the titan tron screen where Rob Van Dam
leaps for the Five Star Frog Splash this could well be a part of the
actual game play or could be just to show the power of the PS2 Graphics
engine and not be in the complete version of the game like many things
shown in Smackdown 3 which were not actually available in the game
itself!
Also allot of people
wanted one thing which was yes you guessed it the full Hell In a cell
and finally THQ have implemented the full HIAC into the game and from
what we have seen so far it looks pretty good and you are able to
perform top of the Cell moves like the Choke slam which is shown in the
trailer as well as a number of other moves.
New moves which are
notable are, for one there is one sequence in the trailer where RVD hits
a spinning heel kick on a steel chair sending Booker T spinning around
and straight into a Rock Bottom by the man him self The Rock, this could
well be in the game but I would not think so, this could just be to show
the game and raise fan interest in the already popular game!
THQ have delivered what
fans want in the game from what the trailer shows so far, but I would
not get over exited just yet as THQ have plenty of time to add or remove
features from the game like was done in Smackdown 3.
Commentary will be done
by all four of our favourite commentators, i.e. Jim Ross, Jerry The King
Lawler, Tazz & Michael Cole, I would think this would be for each of the
two shows for RAW J.R & The King, and for Smackdown , Tazz & Cole.
There will be a blown-out
career mode featuring an all-new draft feature, an updated roster,
better-than-ever graphics, revamped control system, in-depth
Create-A-Wrestler and a more robust season mode.
There will be a number of
new matches also added to the already huge variety of matches available
:- such as elimination tag, captain fall, tornado, six-man tag, and
slobber knocker special.
Look forward to the huge
14 actual Pay-Per-view Arenas including the Famous Madison Square
Garden, there will be backlash, vengeance, Summerslam, Wrestlemania 18,
Rebellion, Unforgiven and plenty more. As expected, the game will also
include authentic ring entrances with dynamic lighting effects and full
TitanTron videos.
Overall this game will
kick ass! |
